Vacancy: Vessel Operator in Copenhegan – Maersk Tankers- Feb 2011

Vessel Operator – Handytankers

Maersk Tankers

Do you want to be part of an international team where you will have the opportunity to create results in a fast moving environment?
Being commercially responsible for the world’s largest pool of Handy and MR size product carriers, Handytankers’ global presence combined with local operational knowledge ensures smooth and flexible transportation of CPP and DPP as well as edible oils and easy chemicals. We are looking for a Vessel Operator to join our team of highly skilled and motivated Charterers and Operators at our Copenhagen office.

Execution of entire voyages: from contract conclusion to collection of freight
You will be part of a dynamic operation desk and your primary responsibility will be to ensure efficient commercial operation of a specific number of vessels. This entails taking the responsibility from the execution of entire voyages, from the moment the contract has been concluded by the Chartering department until the collection of freight takes place. Close communication with key stakeholders, such as clients, seafarers, brokers, traders and colleagues, will be an important tool in your continuous optimising of our operations.
Being an integral part of the team, you will gain knowledge of legal aspects and on how to calculate voyages. Communication across geographical and cultural borders will assist you in building a strong professional network, and though you enjoy working independently, you are a keen team player, who enthusiastically shares your knowledge.

Drive, detail orientation and service mindset
Ideally you have been sailing on a product/chemical tanker and/or you have several years of experience from a similar position as Operator. You are a true team player with a high drive, and you do not shy away from challenges. You are detail-oriented and focused on the end-results and you constantly strive to deliver outstanding service and create the most profitable solutions. As you will be part of a truly international environment your English skills should be impeccable.

If you are up for the challenge, you could be our new colleague!

Please note that the deadline for applications is Tuesday 8th March 2011.
