Port of Tyne is one of the UK’s largest Trust Ports, with five distinct business areas: conventional and bulk cargo, car terminals, cruise and ferries, logistics and estates. Operating a high security deepwater customs-approved container terminal, with regular feeder connections, integrated warehousing and a fleet of distribution vehicles, the Port’s logistics business offers customers complete supply chain management.

In order to support our future growth plans we are seeking to recruit a Terminal Manager. Reporting to the General Manager, you will manage all aspects of container handling operations to ensure an efficient and reliable service to our customers.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the delivery of the business plan

• Leading and inspiring a multi-skilled team

• Managing performance delivery against approved   budgets and forecasts

• Liaising with existing and potential customers in order   to maximise commercial opportunities

• Managing the efficient use of resources

The successful candidate will have extensive experience of container handling operations, ideally gained within a port or logistics environment. You should have high level negotiating and influencing skills, have the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and demonstrate a customer-focused approach.
