Vacancy: Main Ship Jetty Loading Master in Caribbean- Feb 2011

Lowland Marine & Offshore is searching for a Main Ship Jetty Loading Master, who will be directly responsible for the safe, environmentally sound, reliable and optimized operation of Clients Main Ship Jetty. The role requires an individual that can direct and manage in a very dynamic marine logistics environment with very limited or no direction. Your work area will be the Caribbean.


Areas of Responsibilities and Accountabilities

·  Ensure that all of clients Main Ship Jetty and associated and relevant terminal policies and procedures are followed paying specific attention to all job scope specific health, environment, safety and security (HESS) guidelines.

·  Ensure that all local, national and international rules, regulations, guidelines and standards (such as the International Safety Guide for Oil Tankers and Terminals; ISGOTT) are adhered to.

·  Supervise the Main Ship Jetty Person-In-Charge (PIC).

·  Directly responsible to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

·  Ensure that all appropriate and associated documents, records and checklists are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

·  Review and make corrective recommendations for the vessel’s loading or discharge plan.

·  Report any found vessel deficiencies to Clients Vetting.

·  Be well versed in the terminal’s emergency response plans and be prepared to take an active role in any emergency response associated with the Main Ship Jetty.

·  Liaison directly with the Client Dock Champion to ensure the Main Ship Jetty’s overall operational integrity.

·  Perform other duties as required and directed.


Qualifications and Experience

·  Senior licensed (Master, Chief Officer or Chief Engineer) marine officer.

·  Well versed in international tanker and oil terminal operations.

·  Familiar with local, national and international rules, regulations, guidelines and standards for the operation of tankers and oil terminals.

·  Ability to work in a dynamic environment with little or no direction.

·  Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with various international individuals.

·  Good computer skills.

·  Must have valid travel documents.

·  Must have valid driver’s license.

·         Work in a noisy environment that may require hearing protection.

·         The employee will be required to wear PPE including fire retardant clothing, eye protection, head protection, steel-toed shoes.
