South Tyneside College is searching for talented, enthusiastic staff to join its Marine College.

South Tyneside College, located in South Shields is excited to celebrate its 150th Anniversary in 2011.  We have a worldwide reputation for the quality of our marine training.  South Shields is a picturesque seaside resort in the North East of England boasting many attractions including stunning coastal scenery and a wealth of cultural and historical attractions.  South Tyneside has a long and proud maritime tradition and a rich heritage of seafaring, shipbuilding and lifesaving.

Marine Engineering - Successful candidates will have relevant training and/or experience in a range of marine vessels, in either a senior management position onboard of the person in charge of electrical power systems/marine communication systems.

All New entrants to the College will be required to undertake a CRB clearance.

Education and Training: Chief Engineer (unlimited) certificate of competency or a degree in a relevant engineering or electrical discipline plus industrial experience or a HND in Marine Engineering combined with recent sea experience at a senior level.

Relevant Experience: Served at sea as an engineering officer. Up to date knowledge / experience in marine engineering or marine electrical / electronics topics.
