Vacancy: Structural Designer- Feb 2011

Structural Designer (Req #316) (2nd shift contract position in Marinette, WI)

The function of a Structural Designer is to create the Detail Design documentation using the documentation previously developed for the various Structures for the ship design project to which he/she is assigned. In fulfilling this function he/she is to develop shop production related production drawings and workpacks, and exhibit the capability to assist Manufacturing in the resolution of production related issues.


Further responsibilities will be to create and annotate assembly drawings, stiffener plots with Ship constructor, layout solid model using Ship Constructor along with the ability to effectively export all ShipConstructor Data Base Information into a useable model.


Eligible applicants will have an Associate Degree with an emphasis in mechanical drafting/design, or can also be met through a High School Diploma plus 3 years of experience Marine Structural design experience and one year modeling experience. Essential functions are to include the ability to utilize AutoCAD 2D/3D, ShipConstructor and fluency with Regulatory Body Requirements associated with the Ship Building Industry.


Candidates must have AutoCAD 2008 and ShipConstructor 2008.
