Responsibilities

• Develop and implement HSE capability strategies and plans for MISC Group to ensure availability of competent HSE personnel and institutionalized capability (such as HSE Risk Management, Crisis Management & HSE Sustainability) to support MISC core business operations and growth.
• Ensure the implementation of Group HSE plans, strategies & initiatives and programs to ensure deliverables are met and meeting targeted objectives.
• Collaborate and establish strategic alliance with external parties e.g. HSE learning centers e.g. INSTEP, NIOSH, UTP; Government authorities, JV partners, Contractors, Industry partners to identify new learning technologies and programs to enhance HSE capabilities to achieve global standards in operational excellence.
• Keep abreast on internal and external environment to consolidate HSE best practices, emerging issues and challenges in managing HSE in global operations for review in the formulation of MISC Groupwide HSE Strategic Plan.
• Undertake a study on root causes of major incidents/accident cases that related to human factors.
• Provide guidance to MISC Operating Units (OPUs) and Contractors to ensure effective & consistent development & implementation of the Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSEMS) groupwide in line with PETRONAS HSEMS provisions, MISC Corporate HSE policy, legislative requirements and international best practices.
• Develop and implement HSE Induction Program for new entrants group-wide to inculcate safety culture and awareness to all employees.

Requirements

• Must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate, Professional Degree or Master's Degree in Engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety) or equivalent.
• Masters in Engineering or MBA is an added advantage.
• Minimum 5 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Minimum 2 years experience in the related field.
• Experience in Logistics / Oil & Gas industries is an added advantage.
• Certified Safety Officer by NIOSH holding a green card is an added advantage.
