We are seeking highly motivated, individuals with a Master FG (Class 1) Certificate of Competency acceptable to Maritime NZ to teach in our maritime and logistics programmes.

You will be an excellent communicator, adept at using your initiative and enjoy working as part of a team. The successful applicant will have significant experience as Chief Officer or Master aboard a variety of ship types in international trade. You will also display a strong student-focus and demonstrate a passion for education. Previous commercial management ashore experience is preferred as is experience in teaching nautical certificates of competence and development of courses for nautical students.

The successful applicant must be prepared to work some evenings and weekends and be prepared to travel for up to periods of 3 weeks.

Vacancy: Marine Superintendent- Northern Marine Management

Marine Superintendent

Due to continued expansion in their fleet of modern VLCC’s, Northern Marine Management has an excellent opportunity for qualified shore based Master Mariners with a strong Tanker background.
Reporting to the Operations Director you will be responsible for
  • Maintaining a number of tanker vessels (from 6000dwt to 330,000dwt) to the company’s high standard of compliance to the International Management Code for the Safe Operation of Ships and for Prevention Pollution
  • Occasionally making trips worldwide to visit ships and conduct inspections
  • Formulating company policy and strategy on all aspects of fleet management, especially concerning safety and pollution prevention
  • Liaising with captains and crews and making accessible your knowledge, experience and advice
You will be a Class 1 Master Mariner with command experience on tanker vessels. Previous shore based experience is unnecessary but always advantageous. Easy team working and leadership skills are essential.


Vacancy: Berthing Masters- Statoil

Statoil South Riding Point, an oil storage and transshipment terminal situated in the port of South Riding Point in the Bahamas is looking for Berthing Masters

Responsibilities:
•Berth/unberth vessels up to VLCC size
•Onboard HSE/ISPS representative for terminal
•Liaise with vessel for safe and efficient cargo operation
•Monitor weather and advise on port closure
•Vetting of vessels
•Assist with marine related activities

Requirement:
•Currently active Marine Pilot with an Unlimited Masters license with more than 10 years experience at an oil terminal
