TORM is looking for a General Manager to start up TORM Brasil Transporte Marítimo Ltda
TORM has recently adopted its new strategic foundation “Changing Trim” which rests on four cornerstones: Customers, Resilience, Leadership and Sophistication. We are looking to expand our global footprint to match the on-going development of our business, including an increasing presence in the growing South American market. Our first step in this direction is to start up a new office in Brazil – and for that we are looking for a dynamic and business-oriented General Manager.
We want you to play a leading part in implementing our new strategic foundation and building a strong TORM footprint in the South American region. Furthermore we are looking for a strong and professional profile with in-depth commercial maritime capabilities, entrepreneurship, respect, a performance-driven approach and a global mindset.
The successful candidate will further develop TORM’s customer relationships within the Tanker and Bulk segment and develop new business opportunities in the South America region. The General Manager will report directly to the Regional Managing Director of TORM Americas in Stamford, CT, USA.
Your qualifications
You have a commercial background, preferably from the shipping industry, and are driven by a strategic and analytical mindset. You have the ability to detect new business opportunities and handle market challenges that can help TORM meet customer and market needs better than anyone else in the industry.
You have well-documented leadership, marketing and relationship building skills and will be capable of securing our continued growth among new and existing clients.
You have a strong drive, have prior experience from working in international environments and preferably you have an outstanding knowledge of the South American region.
You will intuitively act in accordance with our values: Respect, professionalism and entrepreneurship.
Language skills
You must be fluent in English and preferably you are proficient in Portuguese.
