We currently have a requirement for a Marine Electrician to join the commissioning team in Singapore for your our new deepwater pipelay/heavy-lift vessel, the Borealis. Once the commissioning phase is complete this position will become part of the marine crew for the vessel.

Reporting to the Chief Electrician, the Electrician is responsible for carrying out maintenance, repairs and modifications of the electronic / electrical systems on board the Ship, including high voltage, and for ensuring that such systems are in compliance with governing regulations and demands concerning the systems.

Key Responsibilities:
Carrying out maintenance and repair of the following Ship equipment according to established procedures: 
  • Communication system
  • DP system, including DP reference systems (HPR, HIPAP, UPS, Tautwire, Artemis, Fan Beam within their ability and proficiency
  • Electrical systems
  • Motors and generators
  • Transformers
  • Lighting systems
  • Navigation systems
  • Alarm and control systems
  • All electrical power systems
  • Switchboards
  • Video and entertainment systems
Carrying out repairs as directed by the Chief Electrician and/or Chief Engineer.
Carrying out modifications on the equipment as directed by the Chief Electrician and/or Chief Engineer.
Keeping workshops and tools in order and serviceable.
Reporting technical status to the Chief Electrician/Chief Engineer after their stay on board.
Assist the Project Team as requested or instructed by the Chief Electrician and/or Chief Engineer.
Verification of third party equipment prior to installation to ship's power.
Responsible for the Ship's Computer Network System as appropriate.
Ensure the appropriate personnel are in place to carry out activities to support the electrical maintenance and repair work and are suitably trained and qualified to carry out the work.
Assist Chief Electrician/Chief Engineer in providing support to the Master in conducting "Shipboard Management Review" in accordance with the ISM Code.

You will be responsible for the operations of the 4 – 6 tankers assigned to you, ensuring that the vessels are operated in compliance with our procedures. You will be required to liaise closely with the other fleet team members and our support functions (technical, personnel, QA and operations) and the Fleet Manager.

Your key responsibilities:

Ensure that the vessels are maintained and operated safely, efficiently and economically as per company procedures through close contact with the Senior Officers, onboard inspections and supervision.

Make sure that the maintenance planning, execution and control is carried out in accordance with good practice and company standards.

Monitor unscheduled repairs and trends and communicate experience to other vessels and share experience with the Fleet Manager / Director and the other Superintendents Ensure that vessels receive supplies and spare parts as necessary.

Ensure that vessels follow relevant regulations.

Monitor the condition of the vessels during inspections and report as per the company procedures and clients'/owners' requirements.

Prepare, supervise, document and follow-up on dry-dockings. Prepare and monitor vessel budgets. The Superintendent is responsible that the vessel complies with the budgets.

Monitor and report personnel performance and training needs to the Personnel Director Other special tasks and projects as per the Fleet Manager's instructions.
